Both names appear in floor-coating searches, but they describe different resin chemistries. Epoxy is often used where bond, build or a decorative body coat is needed. Polyaspartic products are often considered for faster curing, clear topcoats and areas where ultraviolet exposure matters. Exact properties vary by product. A complete system may use more than one chemistry rather than forcing an either-or choice.
The comparison should begin with the floor. Consider indoor or outdoor exposure, sunlight, slab temperature, moisture, traffic, desired appearance and the time available before the room returns to use. Ask which layer performs each job and why it fits those conditions. Marketing terms such as “one day” or “UV stable” do not describe preparation, repairs, thickness or every use limit.
Does faster curing always make a better project?
Faster return to service can be valuable when a garage, shop or business cannot remain empty for long. It also leaves a shorter working window during installation. Surface preparation and repairs still require time, and weather or slab temperature can affect the schedule. A fast coating applied over an unsuitable or poorly prepared slab is not a shortcut to a sound floor.
